Installation

Stable release

To install Python State Machine, run this command in your terminal:

$ pip install python-statemachine

This is the preferred method to install Python State Machine, as it will always install the most recent stable release.

To generate diagrams from your machines, you’ll also need pydot and Graphviz. You can install this library already with pydot dependency using the extras install option. See our docs for more details.

$ pip install python-statemachine[diagrams]

If you don’t have pip installed, this Python installation guide can guide you through the process.

From sources

The sources for Python State Machine can be downloaded from the Github repo.

You can either clone the public repository:

$ git clone git://github.com/fgmacedo/python-statemachine

Or download the tarball:

$ curl  -OL https://github.com/fgmacedo/python-statemachine/tarball/master

Once you have a copy of the source, you can install it with:

$ python setup.py install
